Notify me when its in stockThe MK3 Steering Lock Emulator (MK3682) is designed as a direct plug-and-start replacement for the factory ESL/ELV/SCL steering lock system found in Land Rover Freelander 2 (L359) 2006–2014 models.
Steering lock malfunction is one of the most common no-start issues in Land Rover vehicles. When the ELV/SCL fails mechanically, the ignition and key may work, but the engine will not start because the steering lock does not release.
Replacing the OEM steering lock requires ordering a new unit and performing vehicle programming — an expensive and time-consuming process.
This emulator bypasses the faulty steering lock completely and restores full vehicle start functionality instantly. No programming required — simply plug it in and start the car.
Includes an OEM-style lock/unlock sound for full operational simulation.

The factory Land Rover ELV/SCL unit contains mechanical moving parts that often fail over time.
When the steering lock does not activate or release:
The key operates normally
Dashboard powers on
The engine will NOT start because the steering lock does not report “unlocked”
Using the MK3 Steering Lock Emulator:
The defective lock is completely bypassed
No mechanical repair or coding is needed
The emulator instantly restores normal vehicle start authorization
Because it contains no mechanical components, the emulator is more durable than repairing or replacing the OEM unit.
Turn off the vehicle ignition.
Remove the ELV/SCL connector from the original steering lock unit.
If the steering column is in locked mode, remove the lock unit from the vehicle first.
Connect the MK3682 emulator to the vehicle’s steering lock harness.
Start the vehicle — the emulator will activate and simulate the steering lock operation.
LED Behavior:
Green Light: Vehicle can start (lock released)
Red Light: Lock active or system fault
No Light: Check power supply or wiring connection
