Notify me when its in stockThe Mercedes-Benz Universal Steering Lock Emulator (MK12300) is designed as a full electronic replacement for the factory ESL/ELV steering lock found in a wide range of Mercedes vehicles, including W210, W211, W203, Sprinter, Vito, Crafter and more.
Steering lock failure is one of the most common no-start problems in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. When the ESL fails mechanically, the key turns but the vehicle refuses to start. Dealership replacement requires ordering a new steering lock unit and coding it to the vehicle—expensive and time-consuming.
This universal ESL/ELV emulator bypasses the defective steering lock and instantly restores vehicle start authorization. No coding is required — simply connect the emulator and start the engine.
Manufactured by MK3, the module includes high-quality electronics, OEM-style lock sound output, and durable connectors fully compatible with multiple Mercedes-Benz platforms.

⚙️ Technical Overview
The OEM steering lock (ESL/ELV) contains mechanical moving parts that frequently fail with age. When the ESL does not unlock:
-
The key turns normally
-
The ignition wakes up
-
The engine does not start, because the steering lock did not activate
Mercedes-Benz dealerships typically replace the entire steering lock assembly and program it to the vehicle — a costly and slow process.
The MK3 Universal ESL/ELV Emulator electronically replaces the original steering lock, permanently bypassing ESL faults. No programming or adaptation is required.
🛠️ Installation Instructions
-
Turn off the ignition.
-
Remove the original ESL/ELV connector from the steering lock.
-
Ensure the vehicle is not in locked mode (steering column must be free).
-
Connect the MK3 Emulator to the vehicle harness.
-
Insert the key and start the vehicle — the emulator takes over ESL operation.
LED Behavior:
-
Green Light: Correct connection; vehicle ready to start
-
Red Light: Wrong key or EIS/EZS mismatch
-
No Light: Check power supply and wiring
