Notify me when its in stockThe MK3 Screw-Type Steering Lock Emulator (MK12690) is designed to replace the original ELV/ESL steering lock found in Mercedes-Benz W204, W207 and W212 vehicles.
Factory steering locks frequently fail mechanically, causing the vehicle to refuse to start even when the key and ignition function normally.
Dealership replacement requires ordering a new ELV, waiting for delivery, and performing online coding — an expensive and time-consuming process.
This screw-mounted ELV emulator allows you to program it once using any supported Mercedes key programming device and reuse it on other vehicles when needed.
It fully simulates the OEM steering lock and includes an authentic lock/unlock sound output.
System Type: Steering Lock Emulator (ELV / ESL)

The OEM Mercedes ELV contains mechanical components that often fail due to wear.
When the steering lock does not release:
The key turns normally
Ignition lights come on
Engine will NOT start because the steering lock does not report “unlocked”
Using the MK12690 ELV emulator:
You program it once using EIS data (via VVDI, CGDI, AVDI, Autel, etc.)
After programming, connect it to the vehicle
The emulator replaces the damaged steering lock, permanently bypassing ELV failures
More robust and reliable than repairing a broken OEM ELV unit.
Turn off the ignition.
Remove the original ELV connector from the steering lock unit.
If the vehicle steering is locked, remove the steering lock from the vehicle first.
Use a Mercedes key programmer to calculate the EIS password.
Program the MK12690 emulator using the key programming device.
Connect the emulator to the ELV plug inside the vehicle.
Insert the key — the LED should turn green, meaning programming and communication are successful.
Start the vehicle.
Green Light: Programming successful – vehicle ready to start
Red Light: Wrong EIS key / incorrect programming
No Light: Check power wiring / vehicle harness
