Notify me when its in stockThe Mercedes-Benz Steering Lock Emulator is engineered as a direct replacement for the OEM ESL/ELV steering lock module found in W204, W207, and W212 chassis vehicles.
Steering lock failure is one of the most common issues in the Mercedes start authorization system between 2007 and 2014. When the ESL fails, the ignition turns on, but the vehicle will not start even if the key and EIS/EZS are fully functional.
Dealership replacement requires ordering a new steering lock unit and coding it to the EIS—an expensive and time-consuming process.
The MK3 ESL/ELV Emulator provides a fast, durable, reprogrammable, and cost-effective solution.
This new-design single-connector emulator supports lock sound output, LED status indicators, and compatibility with all major Mercedes key programming tools.

• Green – SCL Unlocked
• Red – SCL Locked
• Plays lock/unlock sound when the emulator activates SCL unlock state.
• Simple plug-n-play installation
• Fully reprogrammable
• Supports most Mercedes key programmers
• More durable than repairing original ESL
• Eliminates common W204/W207/W212 steering lock failure permanently
The ESL/ELV steering lock in Mercedes vehicles often fails due to mechanical or electronic faults inside the steering lock motor and logic board.
Symptoms include:
Key turns but car does not start
No steering unlock sound
ESL Locked/Unlocked errors
EIS recognizes the key, but authorization does not complete
The MK3 ESL Emulator replaces the steering lock entirely and works with the EIS/EZS after programming.
Once programmed correctly:
The emulator reports SCL Unlock to the vehicle
Start authorization succeeds
Ignition and engine start operate normally
Green LED: Programming successful / vehicle ready
Red LED: Wrong key, incorrect EIS data, or programming error
No LED: Check vehicle wiring or power supply
Remove the original ESL/ELV connector from the steering lock unit.
If the steering lock is in locked mode, ensure it is physically away from the vehicle.
Use your key programmer to read the EIS/EZS password.
Program the emulator using a supported Mercedes key programming device.
Connect the MK3 ESL Emulator to the vehicle harness.
Insert the key into the ignition.
If the LED turns green, the emulator is correctly programmed and the vehicle is ready to start.
